While I can see the idea for Ferraro with some untapped potential to improve like McCabe but that is way too much for him. We traded two very minor prospects and a first for McCabe and Lafferty. Far cry from our top defensive blueliner whom has a very good chance of being better than Ferraro, one of our up and coming young defensive forwards with some offensive ability, our fourth line defensive forward and a 1st round pick.
Change the pick to one to either the 2nd or 3rd and take out Niemela for a lesser prospect like Villeneuve. If not enough for San Jose then it is not worth even looking into the idea.
