Description
An idea...
Basically Zegras finally gets traded for experience - defensive stud and goalie mentor for Dostal (assuming Gibson somehow vanishes) = cap space for resignings...
Then Zegras for Cuylle - he fits so much better in FLA and NYR likely jumps for young star winger... (maybe FLA can retain on Zegras to make it even more appealing)

Evan "gets bumped of the puck even by wind" Rodrigues for this season leader in hits Jeremy Lauzon.

I only dislike the rangers trade. But I dont agree with trading ekblad and not getting a young dman back with potential. Cause that defense now doesn’t look good. Who knows how Benning will be especially with top 4 minutes. Plus I think we gotta run bob one more year until we see what knight is gonna do. Cause that could potentially be a rough tandem.

Rangers say NOPE. They need more big physical players like Cuylee, not less, and already have enough soft small skilled forwards.

That’s going to be a no from Anaheim fella

We don’t want a goalie that’s like 35 making $10,000,000

The Ducks are not trading Gibson to end up with Bob. If the team doesn't want an old, expensive starter why would they maneuver into an even older, more expensive guy? That makes zero sense.

As far as Ekblad goes, he's 28 and one year away from being a UFA. He's the last type of player the Ducks would trade a 22 yr-old for. They'll take a rebuilding team approach this summer and either let the kids play or find a UFA to fill in the gap. I would throw a lot of money at Montour if I was in Verbeek's chair. I'd pay him a heck of a lot more than 5.5M that is for sure.

Ekblad and Bobrowsky would be the kind of veterans we'd like if our window of competitiveness were closing, like Pittsburgh's or Washington's. But our window hasn't even started opening yet, so No, Thanks.

Or, wild idea, Anaheim declines the trade, keeps Zegras, who we want, doesn't take Bob, who we don't, keep our prospects, and sign Ekblad as a UFA next year.

You can't honestly think one year of Ekblar and a two years of Bob has much value to a team who's competition window is a year or two out, do you?

Am I the only one who thinks Montour is a mid 2nd pairing D who happened to have one outlier year?

Don't know about that, but I do know from our previous exchanges that I like him a whole lot more than you do. I will admit that for him to get 7+ M on his next contract he needs to crush it in the post season. We'll see on that.

laugh Zero chance of either Bobrovsky or Ekblad waiving for Anaheim. Ekblad wants to be closer to his Windsor Ontario home not further away.
