Next Season

Created by: Lancebmx
Team: 2024-25 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 22, 2024
Published: Mar. 28, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bridge deals for Seider and Raymond in order to improve the team in the short term.

Petry as 7th D since his buyout sucks.

No idea where Detroit will finish but who should we draft if we pick around 10-12? I really like Catton but I doubt he's around. Greentree wouldn't be a bad pick out Yakemchuk. Jiricek and Nygaard are my next favourites.

ASP to start in Grand Rapids. Danielson could maybe play in the AHL? He has 4 seasons in the WHL but they aren't "full" seasons so I'm not sure how that works. Kasper, Danielson, Mazur and Berggren all could make the team out of camp. I have Mazur and Berggren making it.

I would be willing to lose Fabbri for nothing but I think he can get some value. I just chose San Jose but maybe there is a different team interested.

See I needed almost every dollar, I sent Holl to Columbus to ideally be bought out. We get Merzlinkins and, although they don't get cap savings this year, they get 4.2M the 3 years after and they gain a second in a decent draft. Since they are likely sending their 2025 2nd to Philly, at least I would expect, they can replace it.

1.
DET
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (COL)
2.
DET
  1. Lee, Anders ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Not totally sure on value but Lee is the type of player I think this team could use. Big, physical and has skill. I think he could excel in a more offensive system. Obviously he would have to waive.
NYI
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Really don't know what the value is. Islanders retaining for two years but also get 3.5M in cap space.

Let me know what kind of return would be expected here.
3.
DET
  1. 2025 4th round pick (WPG)
SJS
  1. Fabbri, Robby
Additional Details:
They paid a 7th for Kostin, maybe a future 4th for Fabbri? They have 5 UFA forwards and maybe a RFA that doesn't return.
4.
DET
  1. Manson, Josh
Additional Details:
Colorado clears cap to sign Walker and Mitts

Lee scored 28 goals in 2 out of the 3 last seasons. He isn't worth the 7 million

Still the islanders could easily got more than a 3rd for a 20 goal scorer, and capitan at 3.5 million

I don’t see San Jose paying for fabbri. They could just take on a bad contract or sign a reclamation project ufa like they have been doing.

You have to turn 20 before January 1st of that season to be AHL eligible from the CHL, so yes I believe Danielson is AHL eligible next year.

Which means he's definitely gonna be in the AHL lol.

Honestly I have no idea of value. I don't see him having a ton of value but still probably more than I offered likely to the right team.

I hope so. Yeah age and seasons played are the criteria. I hope he makes the jump next season.

I hope it happens. Perfect fit in my mind. We need a guy like him to help in the back end.

That was my original trade but thought I would mix it up a bit.

That's a no-brainer for Columbus. I don't see Detroit doing it, though. But if they do, I like it.

SJ would take him with a sweetener like a 4th. 4mil per year is quite the overpay for an often injured one dimensional player like Fabbri. Certainly not going to send value in a draft during a rebuild for him lol.

Yup he's a local kid, His hometown is next to my former hometown. If he doesn't re-sign with LA it would be a no brainier.

Nate Danielson will 100% be in GR this fall if he doesn't surprise the big club and make it.

I wouldn't be opposed to it but I thought Colorado might prefer to keep him after giving up a first. He is younger as well.
