Domi isn't signing that. He deserves a raise. But heck, I would love it if he did haha

I see him doing it... Otherwise, Bert might sign an extra year at 4 instead and gives the extra 500K to Domi

I’d rather keep the 1st; Leafs have lots of prospects (one of the best teams in terms of nhl ready potential prospects), just very few that project as top 6 or top 4. We need more high end talent in prospect pool, not just more talent - quality over quantity

I mean, Minten, Knies, Robertson were all 2nd round picks... I think the Leafs can find 2 quality kids in the 2nd Round and a solid kid in the 3rd Round... Which makes the pool a lot better

Too much term for those players who will be in their 30s.
Pesce and Walker and aren't worth 9.5m collective but Leaf fans do have a fascination with other teams RHDs/

As it stands now, only Knies looks like top 6 material. Minten hopefully 🤞 . Rather keep the 1st and sign Cowan equivalent on the blue line

I've been very impressed with Walker on the Avs thus far... I think he'd do extremely well in TO...

And Pesce's so good IMO...

As for term, we all know Brad's going to do it as he did in CGY, so I'd much rather Domi and Bert over someone else as I have loved how they have preformed with Matthews... Allows the Leafs to go deep

Minten does as well IMO in potential... So that's 2/3... Robertson could, but a change of scenery looks like the best option...

That's why I'd rather trust the Leafs scouting department with 3/4 defensemen over 1/2 (depending on the Robo/Jarny/Timmins returns)

We're not wasting $7M on Walker and Liljegren

"Wasting"

Why do you think the Leafs got Klingberg? To get more offence and puck movement from the blue line... What do you think Walker and Lilly do? Offence and puck movement from the blue line!

And Walker gets in there when needed, he played for Torts and thrived

History of pick trades suggests otherwise on value. Those picks are likely to only be a few selections apart, definitely overestimating the return

This is the pick value chart I'm going off of: https://soundofhockey.com/2022/06/06/examining-the-value-of-nhl-draft-picks/

Pick is likely 22: Value of 208.05

Pick 38: 101.64
Pick 44: 78.37
Pick 80: 22.07

Add those three up: 202.08

I think Tanev will sign with Toronto.

I wouldn't count on Pesce signing.

What about hometown boy DeMelo?

I don't know about Tanev, it could be just like ROR

I have a feeling Pesce's lack of points could lower his number

And IDK about DeMelo and what he'd want

Pick 22 is probably assumes TOR loses their first round series, so that’s nearly as high as that pick could be

ANA would have pick 35, not 38
