Detroit passes on the trade.

If Daniel Sprong was willing to take 3 x $2,500,000 we'd already have re-signed him by now. It's probably going to be closer to 3 x $3,500,000 to sign him.

After Losey benched Sprong I don't see him re-signing with Detroit.

Habs counter L Anderson + Cederqvist + Gallagher + Giniac for Crosby. You send us a bunch of crap we don't want for our players, we will send a bunch of crap for yours

if you are referring to Matta... lets be honest, the value there is about even.
PIT let him go for reasons, he's a statue. Slowest thing on the ice.

Sprong ain't coming to PIT that's for sure. His bad attitude ran him out the door here.

I watch every Red Wings game. He occasionally ****s up but for the most part is unnoticeable, which is just fine for a third pairing D and beats the hell out of our other defenders who are only noticeable because they constantly **** up. Keep your **** AHL lifer. tears of joy

yeah I seen Maatta play for years too, which is why I know you're full of it.
He didn't get faster with age and the league didn't slow down. He's a statue. Paying 3 mil for a guy to play 3rd pairing isn't really top on any teams things to do list.

You got anything new to say or just the same bull****?

NHL Defensemen > AHL defensemen. I dunno what else to tell ya bud. Keep ****ing about when he was on the Pens, when they were actually relevant. tears of joy

This is like saying Jack Johnson is an NHL level defenseman. Or that Karl Alzner was an NHL level defenseman... or insert any other glorious example here.
At some point you realize just because they need a body on a team doesn't make that person an NHL level defenseman. Believe me, the penguins got 2 AHL level clowns on their defense right now, it doesn't make them NHL defensemen.

But you got anything relevant to add?

Pretty sure the fact that the guys you named have careers spanning several years with multiple different NHL organizations makes them NHL level defensemen, lol.

"Yeah multiple teams were willing to pay them and play them, but they're not NHL level defensemen!"

Stop embarrassing yourself.

you are laughing at your own comments, how weak.
I'm pretty sure you can go around this whole board and the universal opinion is that Jack Johnson isn't an NHL quality defenseman and neither was Karl Alzner.... but go with your bad self.
Maybe try laughing at your own comments a few more times.

I'm pretty sure their decade long careers as defensemen in the NHL trump you and your opinion. tears of joy

By the way, let me clear this up because I don't want you to get the wrong impression! I'm not laughing at my own comments, I'm laughing at you.

decade long careers of everyone pointing out how bad they are doesn't qualify them as actual NHL defenseman.
Believe me, his time on the penguins everyone here would have gladly moved him for an AHL level defenseman. But keep digging yourself deeper.
Try laughing at your own comments some more.

oh I'm sure he took the money and ran. I don't blame him either.... but don't come tell anyone he was an NHL quality defenseman.... everyone knows he was not.

Apparently quite a few NHL GMs felt otherwise.

Not that their opinion is nearly as relevant as yours, though. tears of joy
