We are already in the abyss.

But maybe have a real organization before you cast stones

I love that we're all taking turns pumping out "no change ACGMs" and then "Major Changes ACGMs" lol I do think they'll take a run at big pieces if they become available. Draisaitl/Rantanen/etc. but otherwise it'll likely be a quiet offseason.

Assets are there, cost certainty of a cozens maybe part of the package, not sure exactly what it would entail.

The org thats in the bottom 5 in salary expenditure isnt adding draisaitl to their team, nor are they going to be able convince him to re sign

Tbf he is on record saying many times he'd "be honored" to play for us before the 2014 draft. Obviously the drought was WAYYY younger at that point and it could be lip service, but still worth bringing up. Maybe a full circle moment for him?

I mean this is back at a time where he thought there was a real chance hed be drafted by the sabres lol. Of course its lip service. Even Cutter Gauthier wanted to be a Flyer. Guy's going to get absolutely paid and its definitely not going to happen with the Sabres.

Not saying it would be easy, probably take a cap dump of skinner to possibly the ducks and ride out that 27 million, along with some cap for cap, with cozens 42 million going the other way, just to find draisaitle 100 million. IMO he’s what is needed to, tending starting to come together, blueline needs some experience, but the talent is there, just need that elite 1c,

Thompson is the one guy who isn’t an issue at his position. Guy has played hurt all year, still has strong underlying numbers.

The Sabres aren’t anywhere near in a position to pay that much for anyone. They nickel and dimed all their best guys to avoid giving out bonus heavy deals. Even if Adams was the best gm ever and could get rid of skinners deal, ownership isn’t paying draisaitl period

What do you think a Draisaitl to Buffalo trade would look like? I might make an armchair team

Got to center around cozens with either kulich or savoie, possibly Levi. Oilers couldn’t pass on a Campbell home. Probably need a 8x12.5 so probably need a skinner to Anaheim, maybe with this years first to get rid of that 27 million. Possibly off base and could just buy him out cheaper. 1a/1b with Thompson would be rather huge though.

Possibly best just to go get lindholm, or see what you have in savoie and try to ride out skinner contract. Will be interesting offseason
