No. If the Kings are going to move on from PLD it's to clear cap space for other moves. This removes one bad contract only to add two more.

The Kings would just buy out PLD before they did something like this. Since he's 25 years old, the buyout would only be 1/3 of his remaining contract value instead of 2/3, which makes the buyout cap hits reasonable.

Rob Blake can't afford to trade PLD unless he gets Jarry, Pickering and Yager, and that ain't happening.

I wouldn’t do this deal if I was LA, but I don’t understand this sentiment at all. PLD’s play as a third line center is likely to be just as damning as a trade for players. His presence frankly is probably a bigger reminder of the bad deal vs other players.

This isn’t the right deal, because Jarry is a league average goalie being paid premium dollars and I think you can do better because of his unrealized upside (even if I doubt he realizes it as a 3rd line center whose disparaged until a retirement or an injury)

LA spent a lot for Dubois I dont think theyre gonna give up on him already. He wasnt great his 1st year with WPG either so I think hell find his game eventually

None of this is really going to make a whole lot of difference.
The 3rd pairing is still hot garbage and will bleed goals. Which is one of the biggest issues this year. The 3rd pairing getting roasted.
The top 4 there played + all year, only to watch the 3rd pairing bleed goals out and cost games.
The PK will still lack defenders, as no one on the right side can PK other than Letang, and your top 2 LD have to PK. Which again isn't great news.
POJ can not defend. Neither can Ludvig or Ivany.
If this is the best they can field next year they might as well play Owen.
