With the way they are playing right now, we’ll have 7 OA, wich is fine considering Catton and Eiserman should still be there

Yotes aren’t giving up a top 6 winger and taking on that Anderson anchor for a measly future 1st lmao. Swap it with Mtls 2024 first and they still decline

If the NHL wasn't cracking down on teams trading LTIRetired players, CHI might actually be interested in taking on Price's contract.

I do not think the NHL would be against that trade !

Why wouldn't they be? They have said explicitly that they are cracking down on teams trading LTIR contracts to pad their cap situation. I think they would immediately overturn a trade like this.

Hawks probably decline. They won't have any issues getting to the cap floor this season. No real reason to take on Price's contract.

When / where did they say that? I would agree with them that these contracts shouldn't be tradeable, I just don't remember reading anywhere of the NHL stating they would be cracking down.

I think the league was more concerned about trades where players are immediately put on LTIR to "stash" for the playoffs. NHL warns against LTIR Trades

I think it was last season before the deadline, they said they will be "closely scrutinizing trades involving LTIR players" to discourage teams taking advantage of loopholes and circumventing the cap. Which, I think has more to do with contenders acquiring those contracts to help them exceed the cap, as well as stashing players on LTIR until the playoffs, again allowing them to exceed the cap and load up their roster. But I know some experts and pundits believed that they were also frowning upon teams like AZ padding their cap structure with injured players in order to get to the cap floor. Their haven't really been any of those trades since then. So, whether or not they would overturn the trade I am not sure, but I believe that if CHI were able to do so, they more than likely would have by now.

Ope, just noticed you already answered. But I think there was language to suggest they also were frowning upon teams like AZ taking on LTIRetired players. But yes, I do believe the larger concern was teams circumventing the cap ceiling.

I guess that Molson will pay the July 1st bonus and then Habs are going to shop him.

Interesting. I'm not sure why MTL would want to move him since he is already LTIRetired, but I think CHI could be interested.

Cap management in 25-26 require that we take out all our LTIR dead cap. We have to sign Slafkovsky and Ghule !!!

You really don't though. He is eligible for offseason LTIR, and LTIR does not count toward your cap. You can just leave him on LTIR and use that cap space however you want. Plus his contract is insured. So, MTL isn't even on the hook for his salary. He is essentially just a name on a spreadsheet until his contract expires.
