OTT
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. Kovacevic, Johnathan
Additional Details:
Armia is a a great penalty killing depth piece and has a scoring touch. He is kind of a cap dump but he could be an interesting piece to that bottom 6. And Kovacevic adds some size to the D-core and some depth. And the Canadiens to receive a mid round pick is pretty good.
MTL
  1. 2025 3rd round pick (OTT)

I think Armia's recent play has taken him off the market, or at least upped his value beyond being a cap dump, and paired with Kovacevic that should get at least a 2nd

I think a conditional second is good enough because you never know how a player will perform

They got a 3rd who could turn into a 2nd rd pick for Allen, Kovacevic is worth more than a 3rd alone

Retaining 12m on Norris for spare parts and futures… just keep him if that’s the best offer.

Lundell could be interesting.

Kovacevic and Armia don’t really move the needle. Think both teams would be better off standing pat.

More? I don’t think so, I’d say a 3rd maybe even a 4th but idk

We just seen it with Hertl so this isn’t fully out of the realm of possibility.
Yeah I thought so.
Yeah I see what you’re saying but it is pretty low risk, either both players play well or they don’t, only give a 3rd and don’t have to bring them back.

Yeah you clearly don't know. I don't think any team would offer a 2nd round pick for Kovacevic but MTL wouldn't part ways with him for a 3rd round pick

Hertl is 30, Norris only 24 and SJ is likely 4ish years behind Ottawa in terms of a rebuild so the retention’s significance fits their timelines of contention very differently. Ottawa is also in a much different cap situation. But yes not fully out of the realm of possibilities.

Florida fans flame us everytime that Chych for Lundell is proposed so I dunno. I would do that trade for us though. I could see Lundell on a line with Timmy and Bathy and putting up 25-30 goals in the future.

Norris is tricky. I personally would just keep him for now before I even entertain retaining him. I'd atleast give him the 24-25 season to show something to decide what's next. Worst case we have to dump him for the low, and best case he jumps back into the top 6 and plays wing or he's just a permanent LTIR lol.

Huge fan of signing Tanev, Montreal trade I would pass on.

OTT declines all 3 trades, just because armia is playing better now does not mean a team would want him and is overpriced contract. chych has more value than lundell and OTT dont need another 3rd liner.

Norris aint going nowhere anytime soon.

Armia is exactly the type of player teams covet at the TDL. He will easily return this price at half retention, probably more w/o term.
Habs have no reason to do this trade as he's been a huge part of their penalty kill and is a fixture in the top 6 now with little coming up front in the minors. Its all on the back end. Any team would be foolish not to take him on but i realize every player is a cap dump on here when it isnt Crosby or McDavid heading to your team.
