There is zero chance CBJ wants PLD back.

PLD is staying in LA, because if he doesn't improve or is traded at any type of loss GM Rob Blake is out of a job. Also, PLD has a NMC kicking in July 1st.

This part is rather irrelevant to this trade proposal. The picks are 2024 indicating the trade takes place prior to round 1 of the 2024 draft being completed, meaning he still wouldn't have his NMC enacted.

I just don't realistically see Blake taking another huge loss and expecting to keep his job by July 1st. PLD was brought in to help LA get out of the first round, his assessment starts at game 83.

If Blake turned Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari, Pinelli, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick into Kent Johnson and KK he deserves to get fired on the spot. I've been patient with Blake, but if he did anything like this, it goes against what he has been doing, trying to get Kopitar and Doughty a competitive cup contender while they are both still here.

Canes would sooner buyout KK than move him like this.

There is so much weird stuff here I don't know where to begin. So I'll just say your KK valuation seems rather personally skewed and leave it at that. squinty smile

Not really personally skewed anymore, he's living down to expectations now and that contract sucks. That being said it sucks less than the PLD contract (which also sucks).

PLD > KK
KK Contract > PLD Contract

Olivier is playing the same spot in the lineup at a fraction of the cost.

I also think it would be hilarious if PLD got shipped back to CBJ before his NMC kicks in lol

Perhaps that part is, but the part about CBJ wanting no part of PLD is highly relevant. Also, they are neither likely to get rid of Olivier nor give up on KJ yet. Those draft picks won’t be high 1sts so where’s the attraction?

A plot for Bad Contracts would be Elvis and Severson heading out.
