Brady Tkachuk isn't going anywhere. And if he REQUESTED to be traded OTT would have to do better than this with the return.

Both WSH and NJD decline.

All three pieces in the Florida trades have question marks. Ekblad is amazing but rarely healthy for long stretches. Knight’s been relegated the the minors where his numbers haven’t been great. Lundell has seen his numbers regress each season as well.

Would be tough to give up on two known and proven commodities for question marks, albeit good ones, along with a late 1st and 3rd.

NJ and WSH reject those other two trades, not much to unpack there.

NOT TO MENTION that Brady has 4 years remaining on a very reasonable contract for what he brings to a team. Whereas Ekblad, who is supposed to be the nugget in Ottawa's return, is in the final year of his deal and IF he's willing to sign with Ottawa he'd likely want serious term even though he'll be 29 years old. If Ekblad ISN'T willing to sign with Ottawa then they need to move him at the deadline and or watch him walk for nothing. It's just a god awful trade for Ottawa - no way around it.

lol.

Ottawa would have to add a 1st in an Ekblad for Chabot swap.

Then knight who costs another 1st, Lundell who costs a 1st+, a 3rd, and an actual 1st. Let’s come back to reality.

Brady Tkachuk is not worth anything close to that.

And zero chance in hell of Aaron Ekblad waiving for Ottawa. He doesn't want to play in Canada even as a Canadian. He's more than likely heading to Detroit than ever playing in Ottawa.
