Is Broissot the exact same problem where you sign a backup to be the starter as ypu dod with korpisalo

Brossoit is a great backup, he is not cut out to play 30+ games.

Why are you moving Norris for that? He will get healthy eventually lol

SENs went from budget team under Melnyk to a new owner that will happily cover the $20M owed to Couture (over 3 years) while he is on LTIR 🤨?

He’s supposed to be back before training camp. Is it frustrating Norris got injured? Yes. If he isn’t back they can LTIR him. If he comes back you can just play him on the wing in a hybrid centre role with pinto on the second line. Should be easier on him only taking some of the draws. Also opens him up as the trigger man on the wing.

Five years for 30 year old Stephenson (who isn't a 2C) and five years for 31 years DeMelo seems like too much term.

They aren’t cap dumps but id be apprehensive about those contracts with the prospects we will have to sign in 4 years

I’m sorry you’re trading a top pair Dman and a 2c (though with injury concerns) to SJ for Jan Rutta and the declining Logan Couture, what? That’s an easy no from Ottawa

If they would both sign for 4 years great. If not, front end load the money so the lower last year lowers the AAV

I don't trust his shoulder. It would be OK if he was either good to go or a guaranteed LTIR. But I fear he will be fragile, lack confidence and be in and out of the lineup. Too much risk at his cap hit. I would rather have the cap space.

It is my understanding that the team covers 20%, insurance 80% of LTIR $

I agree with you, but that would be an argument to trade them, not dump them for free.
