Pinto is a great player, but I can’t imagine the acquisition cost, contract, and long term fit is there for a team in the hawks status.

I doubt Ottawa would use Pinto to dump Korpisalo

Pinto isn't going anywhere. He was interviewed by Ian Mendes for the Athletic recently, and he spoke about how he wants to be in Ottawa long term, and that he's hopeful they'll have a contract ironed out before he leaves for Europe to play for the States internationally.

The whole "Ottawa might trade Pinto" thing was never real. It was completely fabricated by Islanders fans who desperately wanted a long Island boy. From day one, Staios has been very clear on where he views Pinto. In one of his first press conferences after taking over he mentioned that they view him as part of the core with guys like Sanderson, Stützle and Tkachuk etc.
