Not sure this is the right deal for these teams. SEA hasn't completely given up on Weight yet, though his development path is easily questioned. And PIT probably doesn't see Wright worth both of those assets.

20 goals, 43 points and +5 in 56 games in his first "full" AHL season ... 3 goals and 4 points in 6 NHL games this year. I can guarantee the Kraken have not given up on him, and Dubas would be an idiot not to make this trade.

At the very least, Rakell's contract off the books just makes room to make a better UFA signing to help next year's playoff push, if that's the direction the Pens want to go.

6 players from the 2022 draft have played meaningful NHL hockey. Wright still goes for a top 10-15 pick

Absolutely terrible deal for SEA. Rakell costs to dump, likely a 1st. This means SEA are giving a big discount to take him AND giving Wright for free

30 other teams easily beat this offer.

Wright is getting hot, Seattle declines

If Seattle did want to trade Wright they could easily get a better offer

All true; I just don't see PIT getting something better at this point in UFA for the 5M he takes up in cap. He is a decent player just not worth what he is getting paid. Would love to see Wright in PIT, just don't think this is the deal to do it
