Trades
1.
PIT
  1. 2025 2nd round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
*A lot of Vegas want Smith back on Twitter
VGK
  1. Gruden, Jonathan [RFA Rights]
  2. Smith, Reilly
Additional Details:
*Gruden is the sweetener for CHI to retain 50% on Smith
2.
PIT
  1. Välimäki, Juuso [RFA Rights]
ARI
  1. Hållander, Filip [Reserve List]
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (PHI)
3.
PIT
  1. Couturier, Sean
Additional Details:
The only team that makes sense for Graves to be traded to is PHI, they actively need a 2LD.

Even then, they would probably rather sign Skjei, but they may be tempted to get Graves if it means to get out of the Couturier contract
PHI
  1. Graves, Ryan
Additional Details:
Maybe Graves hasn't been a good fit for PIT, but at the moment he looks like the worst player in the NHL.

Torts would love him though for his physicality.
4.
PIT
  1. Sheary, Conor
Additional Details:
PIT's transition based offence will be more suitable for Sheary, and playing him with Bunting & Crosby could be reminiscent of the 2016 first line (Sheary-Sid-Hornqvist)
TBL
  1. Acciari, Noel
Additional Details:
Cap dump for cap dump - I believe Acciari would be much more suitable for Cooper's dump & chase fourth line than Sheary
5.
PIT
  1. Marner, Mitchell
Additional Details:
Marner would be like the 2015 offseason addition of Kessel - unwanted star player on a failing organization

While Marner doesn't have Kessel's speed or blazing shot, he shares similarities in the sense that he is threat off the rush, on the PP and he is a great playmaker
TOR
  1. Jarry, Tristan
  2. Rakell, Rickard
Additional Details:
Leafs get a number 1 goalie with term that they've been lacking in the Matthews Era

Leafs get a physical forward with great skating ability & puck carrying, he hasn't had a lot of recent playoff success but helped ANA reach the WCF in 2017 scoring 7 goals

Maybe at the deadline… but I’m probably going to say pretty comfortably this wouldn’t happen until then

Fair enough. I just find it hilarious PIT fans absolutely loath Smith & Graves while NJD and VGK fans miss them dearly.

Marner is getting massively undervalued here. Even if he's in the last year of his contract he's still a 95 pt player. That's worth WAY more than a meh goalie and a meh winger, both of which could easily be a cap dump as soon as next year

I bet he rather stay with his boyfriend and play in his hometown, which is also a better team than Pitt at the moment

I don't think Utah will be a significantly better hockey market than Arizona. Should've gone to Quebec City.

They'll be bounced in the first round again, I don't think he would want to stay if he had a choice.

Fair enough, but I just think knowing Treliving's track record, he'll be desperate to get a goalie.

And he definitely like Rakell, even if he's 32, but he fits the profile of players he's been acquiring at forward (Domi, Bertuzzi) who are great in transition, great at forechecking and can score goals.

why would PIT trade anything for a guy they can't resign that isn't worth his value?

He would love Rakell tbh, he is very much a Domi/Bertuzzi type player.

TOR needs a goalie and for a long time.

Probably to get rid of the sieve and the guy that has 35 points in 67 games with another 4 years left.

For sure, but the owner will want a competitive team next season to sell the team to the fans

They have no interest in moving Jarry.
Rakell, as much as you might not like the production, he's only 1 year out from a good season. Fact is Malkin slowed and took the line down with him.
He's 37. Not ready to throw Rakell under the bus for that.
