Not sure you’re getting Johnny Jammies to waive to go anywhere.

And to say Marner and especially Tavares "waive for money"....makes no sense. Marner is going to get paid wherever he goes, and no way any team wants to give Tavares big money.

Leafs fans, Tavares signed in Toronto to fulfil a childhood dream. Unless you point a gun to his and his family head he is never going to waive. Plus you knew the last 2 years of that contract were going to be bad

Also as an islander fan seeing leafs fans wanting to get rid of JT makes me smile

No we're trying to win a cup, and I don't want the Leafs wasting another prime year of the greatest goal scorer playing today. That 22 million can be better used.

You know Leafs fans (by CapFriendly), they "hate" most of the Leafs. Sure Tavares isn't worth 11m but he still a solid 2C. If the cap hadn't been so flat in the past few years, the Tavares cap would't so onerous, Every team has contracts that aren't good, and it's usually because they signed players at their peak to long term contracts.
We won't know till June to what team managed the cap the best in any given season, that will be the Cup Champs.
I wasn't impressed by the Nylander signing for eight years, that will take him to age near 37. Maybe we can have this discussion in 2030 or so.

It feels like John Tavares was someone like Josh Anderson or Anders Lee based on what people are saying to dump him costs... He'd much rather play in Toronto and Toronto is a better team with him in the lineup...

I agree that JT is still good and a solid 2c, but most ppl knew the last year or 2 wasn't going to age well but that happens. Regardless seeing leafs fan trading him is just so funny to me as an islander fan

As an Islander do you think it's funny to have Lee, Pageau, Mayfield on non value contracts?. Even worse having Sorokin getting a 4.25m raise at age 29 for eight years.

It is what it is, what I do find funny is the fact that not only did the islanders win a playoff series before Toronto but they won a playoff series IN Toronto before the leafs. Now THAT is hilarious

Since 2004 the leafs have won 2 playoff series
The islanders have won 2 playoffs series wins IN TORONTO

Enjoy Tavares tho, you think only having one series win was part of the childhood dream

Yep, the Isles have had more playoff round wins lately. But more often than not, they have missed the playoffs altogether
