Quinton Byfield is not available. That's one of the better offers I've seen for him though.

Sharks deal is very interesting! Especially with the high likelihood sharks only keep one of Gushchin or Bordeleau! Both are very talented but you can only have so many small top 9 LW and Eklund has cemented himself already, Musty will be up sooner than later and I don’t want to play an under 5’10” wing on the 4th line.

San Jose is at the beginning of what will be a prolonged rebuild, so they're not about to trade one prime prospect for another. They might give you the New Jersey second for Barron, though. I don't think that they'll give you more because you've made it so obvious that you're going to be paring down your excess at LD.

I got love for Bords, but I'd do this trade if I was Mike. Gecko, Musty, and Gushchin are looking like our future Top 6 wingers going forward, and with Bystedt taking significant strides to being the 3C (Smith will surely be our 1C or 2C, depending on whether Chicago screws us ov... I mean the draft lottery), I'm not sure how much time Bords has left to prove himself within the Mid 6. I'd rather give a shot to a young D in Barron and I'd take this package.

Not all prospects are equal. Sharks have too many small forward prospects. Habs have too many RD prospects. Both players are on the cusp of breaking into the NHL full time. Seems like a good trade.

1. Barron is a RD

2. Hughes made it clear he doesn’t want to trade any of our D

1. Sorry, I had Guhle on the brain from the other trade.

2. Then what are you going to do with Harris and Barron? Hutson looks too good to send to Laval.

Harris and Barron are the least of our worries. They are very good in the nhl. Struble might be the guy sent down (if he isn’t waiver eligible). If Hutson is good enough to be in the league, we can trade Kovy for whatever we can get and rotate Xhekaj and Harris for the 6th D position. Hutson can also be sent down, as he need to improve his defensive game

Matheson - Barron
Hutson - Savard
Guhle - Harris/Xhekaj
Harris/Xhekaj - Kovacevic

Not really. We don’t have to trade anybody. We can just send Hutson/Struble down to improve their defensive game

Savard Matheson Guhle are making it.

Expect Hutson Mailloux and Reinbacher to push for a spot.

And There’s Still Xhekaj Barron Harris Struble Kovy.

There’s clearly too many guys. We’re not starting the season with all of them in the organization. There’s no way.

Mailloux is way too bad defensively to make it.

Reinbacher needs to work on his game in Laval.

Hutson could make it. I explained in another comment how we can afford to keep him and all the other guys. Just send down Struble who isn’t very good right now

It's not a question of price. He's not available.

If Chicago called up and said they'd be interested in swapping him for Bedard, then sure. Short of that, Byfield isn't going anywhere.

LA trading Byfield would be like MTL trading Slafkovsky, just makes no sense. Although you did offer a bundle for him.

I note that Bordeleau was the only assist on Gushchin's first NHL goal tonight.

Maybe Edstrom or Halttunen, but these 3 Have been progressing and improving/ developing well since their drafts and will be solid parts of their rebuild.
