We either look for a 1A right now and aim for the playoffs in 24-25 or we retool after the Brady trade and aim for 25-26 which means we don't trade for Verhaeghe and we likely move Giroux by the deadline.

25-26 we send a bag for the best goalie available otherwise.

Realistically the pick swap doesn’t really accomplish anything, whoever they’re interested in at 4 would likely be there at 6 or 7.

Pick swap aside would you trade Brady and JBD for Jiricek and Johnson? I most definitely would not.

In this scenario I think I would keep Brannstrom for that bottom pair, but I’m biased. I think you could get away without toffoli too. Maybe target Roy out of Vegas for the bottom6?

It gives us an opportunity for Demidov, Lindstrom or Levshunov.

Yeah Branny is fine on 3rd, especially paired with Hakanpaa~ I added Tofolli at the end, I was between him and March~ They're just nice to haves but not needed. Roy would be a smarter choice and we just keep Giroux in the top 6.

The most likely scenario is Demidov and Levshunov are gone after pick 2 and 3 so it’s really moving ahead of Montreal to get Lindstrom.

If Brady’s being moved out then drafting another 6’4 physical LW could make sense but is there that much of a gap between Lindstrom and Eiserman, Catton, Parekh, Yakemchuk or even Iginla? I would say no. On top of that if Ottawa loses and Arizona/Mtl win tonight their pick could be 5th.

If the pick was 3rd, guaranteeing one of Celebrini, Demidov and Levshunov then I could understand the logic. But where everything stands now and the lottery still pending… imagine the pick fell to 5th or even 6th.

Trading for Brady makes no sense for the Jackets.

Jiricek, David was deemed by his team not good enough to be in the NHL, easy pass on him being of any value in a brady trade

He’s arguably the best defensive prospect in the NHL and is playing in the NHL right now. Jackets have zero interest in trading him lol

That guy is just a troll who significantly undervalues every other teams players and overvalues Ottawa’s players. In another thread he told me Demko was average and it would cost the Canucks Demko, Hronek, Lekkerimaki, Willander, and a 1st for Brady

I’d love to see those lists cause he’s a top 10 overall prospect on wheelers, TSN, the hockey writers, elite prospects, and powers most recent drafted prospect lists lol. Couldn’t find one that he wasn’t highly rated on
