No reason to move a reliable top 4 producing d-man and veteran presence/mentor for our future guys like Crozier, Lilleberg, Schmidt, etc. If TB was looking to get younger, the bottom six would be gutted like we did this last off-season instead of moving our franchise D-man.

The problem with that is if you continue to "gut" your bottom six every other year you won't have anything of value and you won't be very competitive shortly after. TBL only has a small handful of guys that have significant value to trade to keep this team going for years to come, guys like Stanmmer Point Kuch Cirelli Sergy Headman and maybe Cernak are the only guys they have they could actually get value for. All those guys are locked up long term except Headman and Stammer so if this team wants to be competitive 2 yrs from now than they are going to have to do something soon otherwise this team will hold out like CHI did without Kane and Towes and go into a super long depressing rebuild.

That's an utterly delusional statement if you look at what this team has locked up long term. After this season Kucherov 3 more years
Hagel 8
Cirelli, Cernak, Sergachev 7
Point 6
Paul 5
Vasilevskiy 4
This is the core of a team that's not a rebuild especially with cap going up

But if we're trying to win now with this core, why would we care about significant value of our own guys to trade away? Outside of those guys you mentioned, Nick Paul has been a solid 3C setting a career high at a cost-effective deal, Glendening for close to league minimum has improved TB's faceoff%, something we desperately needed. Motte and Jeannot both bring energy to the lineup but unfortunately both have been banged up quite a bit. The only real miss in the bottom six is Sheary, but a buyout or trade with sweetener opens up space for Duclair + Stamkos.
There's no reason to gut the whole thing, move Sheary, play Goncalves/Groshev instead next season, and it's still younger fourth line than Maroon-Bellemare-Perry.

If Kuch wasn't having the season he is having this team is not in the playoffs. Kuch is sitting on 43 goals and has the primary assist on 61 goals making him directly responsible for 104 goals of the teams combined 282 that's slightly under 40% of their goals. They are the 10th most scored on team in the league, yes I know Sergy is currently injured and Vassy has been injured a majority of the season but that's more of a reason to strengthen the depth.

Lets keep it real here, the Lightning are highly unlikely to make it out of the first round let alone win the cup.

Yeah and Vasilevskiy didn't play the first 29 games
The team adjusted to a new defensive system earlier and played like s*** but has the best point percentage the last month and a half. Started slow with the new d-zone coverage.

Alright well not sure what this year's playoffs has to do with discussing moving one of our star d-men next year when there's absolutely no reason to, but if we're keeping things real then Hedman probably has the state of California on his M-NTC list like most guys do because of taxes. Not to mention his whole life is in Tampa and would probably refuse to waive anyways. Management says they'll do everything to ensure the group remains competitive so until disaster strikes odds are they hold on till they end up in a bad spot, not to mention we'd have to resign Gavrikov, have an undersized replacement in Spence, and a reclamation project in Kaliyev.

I mean it's easy to say we don't have a chance in the toughest division when the pacific is that easy, but can't say your odds of a deep run or the cup are much better seeing as Vegas still has 2 games on you, so you can either go through McDavid and the Oilers, Vancouver or Dallas. Regardless if you think that little of Tampa I'm sure all the guys you mentioned are saving PLD, Cam Talbot and co a spot on the course when they're both inevitably eliminated smile

I attributed part of the bad defensive play to Sergy and Vassy being out so that's already been acknowledged.
Shut down Kuch and keep TBL off the powerplay and this team is out in 5 games.

Never mentioned Sergachev being out myself but that really wasn't the problem the problem was adjusting to the new coverages. Even early on when Sergie was playing he wasn't playing well
