That's an awfully generous package from the Isles for a guy making $5.8MM with only 14 goals. If you retain 50% maybe you can get a 3rd for him; you're certainly not getting a 2nd plus a couple of prospects for him at his full cap hit.

All teams just spend cap on UFAs, instead of giving up assets to obtain Mango and Markstorm. Now if somewhat equal cap was going back to the Flames, then the Flames would get some picks.
Wolf and Vladar??? Flames are looking at a lottery pick. IMO Wolf will never be a good NHL. goalie

Goalies don't bring in big returns. Below are 2 goalie trades where age and stats are similar to Markström.

Chicago traded Fleury to Minnesota for a 2nd that had a condition that could turn into a 1st.

StL traded Allen to Montreal for a 3rd and a 7th

Too much for Mangiapane considering we have such a bare prospect pool. Take out Danny Nelson and NYI says yes, but we also would need to send salary back (likely Pageau).
