Very unrealistic offseason... Buch trade is not close. Necas and Jarvis both signing at $6.5 for 8 years? No shot.

Condense the St. Louis deal. The Dubas Maneuver isn't working on us.

Yeah, you can't possibly think that pries Buch away from Army.

Some pretty unrealistic contact and a wildly unrealistic trade.

I know Canes fans will probably hate the concept but Buch @ 50% for Necas? if CAR extends Guentzel and decides that Necas isn't a core piece, this would give them another massive piece for a playoff run and then they can evaluate if Blake/Nadeau/whoever else is ready to hold down a top six spot (or try to keep Buchy on a friendly deal). Would that be a better solution than picks and prospects? I mean if someone is offering up a lottery pick maybe that's different but that doesn't happen often.

I don't mind Drury and I think the value is ok.
But where is the fit.
Penguins would need to move one of Eller or Acciari before making a trade like that. As is now they are log jammed.

Worked for Guentzel, whose better. Fast isn't as good as Bunting so you get a certain 1st, but that should definitely do it for a rental... no?

No. Setting aside that I'm not sonsure Guentzel is better any amount worth mentioning, Buch is not a UFA everyone knows is on the block at the deadline. The Blues are not trying to trade him. They're wanting to extend him. It's not the same situation. And I'm not seeing this sire 1st you're talking about. All I see is a bunch of meh. Six pieces and not one that approaches being a prime asset. If you need to pile up six pieces for Buch, you already know it's wrong.

Buch is a UFA... he's got 1 year left. Guentzel was someone Pittsburgh wanted to extend, but Guentzel wouldn't sign. Look at the Guentzel trade as a comparable because if you think this is a bunch of meh when a similar package got a superior player (Guentzel is better than Buch, come on, let's not get into this). You're going to be brutally disappointed if you don't think *anything* here is worth Buch.

Heh. Okay, man. The best pick is a late 2nd. The best piece is a smallish winger taken late in the 2nd. Even if you wish to imagine this sad offer would be substantial enough to convince Army to give up Buch, you can't possibly think nobody tops it.

Just because Pittsburgh took a quantity over quality type deal doesn’t mean St. Louis will. Pittsburgh had next to nothing in their prospect pool, so taking quantity made sense. St. Louis has a pretty good prospect pool and need quality over quantity
