Can't see Vegas trading two NHL Dmen for one. Plus Hague and Whitecloud have six years of control....Chychrun one.

What do you think I would have to add to get them to take something based around this?

I don't think Chychrun has that much trade value now. We'll no know about July 1st, but LHDs are pretty numerous. Of the top of my head, I can't think of a team that is desparate/or have the cap to add one. His best value might be around TDL, when contending team are looking for a good , expiring contract Dmen for a playoff push

The Sens aren’t trading him at the deadline

I admittedly dont think he holds a lot of value either but I think a team will be willing to buy him this offseason given the upside vs cost to acquire should be pretty fair. Theres probably a handful of teams who could slot him at 2LD without much thought espceially if the sens take half his salary this season

I don't think Vegas is a match for Chychrun with Hanifin Pietrangelo and Theodore on board. Would be fun for a season but it would require them to let one of Chychrun or Theodore walk the next offseason

Totally fair, I guess I figured he would get a vegas style extension (solid number like 6.5 with term) and that they could fit both of them in with the expiring deals and the cap rising. Hard to project that though

OTT has not talked about a extention for Pinto too does that mean he is gone too? OTT would be dumb to trade chych and keep chabot

ill add this tho, that Pinto dont have a contract next year Chych does, so priority for OTT is Pinto first then Chych

I'd like to see it just for fun tbh and wouldn't mind if it looked like this, but yeah even though projecting is hard it's hard for me to see both Chych and Theo being able to be kept without losing a significant forward since Pietrangelo has a full NMC and paying 4 D 6M+ at the cost of the forward core is tough

definitely fun to play around with, & if there was someone who I think could make it work it would be McCrimmon

Ottawa needs to sign or trade for a 4top 4 RHD . Given that Whitecloud would slot into the bottom pair . While I do like Hague he is a LD , him playing 3rd pair would mean another year in Belleville for Kleven who I think will get a shot to make the team next year. + if you wanted salary on Chychrun retained that will cost more , say a 3rd or 4th pick.
Reilly is the type or ‘pro’ ottawa needs , he’s won a cup , has lots of post season experience , plays a 200ft game…. but no way I am paying a 3rd without 50% retention.

I think PIT would still be interested in Chychrun (they really wanted him b4 OTT outbid them last year)
Only problem is futures are off the table, so any deal would have to center around roster players and not sure if OTT wants that

I love that Pinto bridge, honestly you could donwgrade that 3rd to a 4th or 5th for Smith.

Might be tough to make work with no futures involved. I think the sens best bet for roster construction is to get futures in some capacity (either picks or young players) which they can either use or flip for other roster pieces. I wouldnt be super interested in any forwards outside of Smith or Bunting & same with defense other than POJ, but I think the most likely options (Smith and POJ) are less valuable than Chychrun so would need to be offset by a future of some value. Bunting might be closer to a 1 for 1 swap depending on what the chychrun market looks like, but would still be a really tough pill to swallow if all we get for him long-term is 2 years of Bunting

It’s the 5 mil cap hit I don’t like , even if its only 1 year.
