I dont see the appeal for the Hawks to make that deal because Vlasic is a cemented NHLer, despite Othmann's upside.

Chicago isn't moving Vlasic.

Vlasic is the Hawks #1 LD for the next decade. so the question is moot because it'll never happen. Oh, and as a side note...you're right...he'd be YOUR #1 LD if you got him too.

I don't think KK has the defensive side of that role YET. Is it possible...anything's possible. But Vlasic has that today.

Leafs don’t need LHD; and obviously better to try to address needs via FA anyway. Robertson is worth more than that anyway

To answer the question "who adds?", IMO, its the Rangers by a significant margin. Othmann may have some offensive upside, but Vlasic is on track to be one of the best dmen in the league. It's unlikely he will ever be known for scoring goals, but I think as CHI's rebuild progresses, he will naturally get more assists just from getting touches on plays with teammates that can actually score, as his puck moving, takeaway, passing, playmaking, and transition games are all pretty strong. He soon will and should already be talked about as one of those "this guy should have gone WAYYY higher in his draft year" type of players, by some scouts and pundits, he already is being talked about in that regard. But I doubt CHI even considers moving him unless a team recognizes all of this and gives them a ridiculous offer they can't refuse.
