Description
This won't happen... but...

Best of luck elsewhere Skinner - (Friedman says each team is likely to get $6mil from Utah move - Spend it on getting dead weight off the roster).

Out of the box move is acquiring Turcotte - a former 5th Overall. There's no room down the middle in LAK, give him opportunity. Give them some picks, and they get a cost controlled Joki in case they lose Roy (RD) in offseason.

Tarasenko - Why not, 2 year investment - get a Bonafide Top 6 Scorer.

Dumba lead a young D group, hope that you get the guy who plays with a screw loose, ease up his minutes too, #1 Righty.

Mercenary approach - Why? Give your young crew 1 full year in the minors together, have established NHLers get the core to the playoffs, cycle in prospects in call-ups. You will have 8-9 guys playing for contract status into 2024, BIG Season.

My Mercenaries:
Arvidsson - 1 Year - Prove he can stay healthy and play top 9 role, play like he did in Nashville.
Carrick - Need a Draw man for young centers and someone who will skate their ass off each shift on the bottom 6.
Duhamie - Energy Energy Energy, push the pace in the bottom 6.
Cogliano - Teach some defensive posture to Cozens (think Selke) and the wingers along the way. If it doesn't work out, he can be a deadline asset.
Bortuzzo - Need a physical presence around the back end in a pinch.

Bury the young guys for another year - All will be ready by All-Star break:
F Call ups:
Kulich
Rosen
Savoie
Ostlund
Wahlberg
D Call Ups-
R. Johnson
Clague

Not in there - Extend JJ Peterka 4m for 4 Years starting after this season.

Turcotte is a worser version than krebs. Kulich Rosen and savoie are all better players.

I wouldn't trade a 2nd or jokiharju for turcotte. Let alone both.

He's not good

There will be room for Turcotte because the Kings can't afford to re-sign Blake Lizotte.

Turcotte has been good when he's been healthy. WIth the cap crunch season, they're going to have a lot of room for skilled and inexpensive younger players. I expect Turcotte, Akil Thomas, Alex Laferriere, and Samuel ****emo all to have spots in the Kings bottom six next season. Arvidsson, Kaliyev, Lizotte, and Grundstrom all likely won't be back. Trevor Lewis could potentially come back on another league minimum deal, but I expect him to sign in Utah.

This site needs a "projected cap number" for the next year. I look forward to watch Turcotte these playoffs, he's good to the Kings fans, and bad to the Sabres fans in this thread.

Turcotte absolutely cannot be the plan at 3C in a make or break season

Someone might throw you a late-rounder for Bryson's rights, but it won't be Columbus. We're set at fringe NHL D-men.

Agreed, extremely undersized left shot puck movers, that don't provide offense, don't have any value. The Sabres gave him a little extra when they signed him to a 1.8m contract, consequently he cleared waivers when he got waived last year. Would've been interesting to see if somebody claimed him if he was making like 900k.
