That's definitely a matchup that could result in an upset. Vancouver hasn't exactly been great for a bit.

We were mainly struggling because Demko was out. Canucks have better forwards, defense, and goaltending than Nashville and should win in 5 or 6 games

I don't see Colorado getting out of the first round, tbh. Aside from the MacKinnon line, they're pretty mid.

Makar hasnt been great defensively, he's less than 50 GF% without MacKinnon this year.

The Avs have a poor away record and don't have home ice advantage v Winnipeg.

Considering you are an oilers fan, chirping anyone's depth is pretty bold.

call it whatever you want. They strike me as a team that isn't going to play a playoff brand of hockey. I think they rely a bit too much on the powerplay (19th in 5 on 5 goals in the league), and i don't think they'll do well against carolina, tampa, florida, or boston in the east. am i supposed to throw an lol or lmao in there somewhere? let me know.

The only team who has truly given the rangers trouble is florida. 2021 Tampa rode heavily on Vasi and special teams. Last year Panthers had an average/below average 5v5 xGF% and hot goaltending

Boston and Tampa don’t scare me. Only Carolina and Panthers, which the rangers could probably handle

I mean it’s true. You don’t have a counter argument

Before Demko was put the Canucks had one bad stretch at the end of February

Canucks absolutely have better forwards than Nashville. Forsberg is great and O’Reilly and Nyquist had very good seasons, but both the Canucks top forwards and depth forwards are better. Advantage Canucks

Hughes is better than Josi. Hronek is better than McDonagh. The bottom 4 dmen for both teams are similar. Advantage Canucks

Demko had an elite season and will likely be a Vezina candidate Saros is still very good but Demko has a slight edge on him right now. Advantage Canucks

I mean of course you think your own team is better than the rangers even though they swept them

This a new era of hockey where you don’t need to be a top team at 5v5. Refs don’t “swallow their whistles” or call less penalties in the playoffs like people seem to think. Carolina and Rangers are top 5 in both PP and PK

In fairness, I think there are four teams that would beat the rangers in the east.

You mean the Oilers team that has the best center depth in the league? The team where their 2C is the 2nd highest playoff scorer in the league over the past few years? That Oilers team?

So the goalie carries the team, that's historically not great in this current era.

Demko doesn’t carry the team on his own, but going from a top 5 goalie to an average-below average backup will obviously make your team lose more (even then they went 7-5-2 when Demko was out so they weren’t completely terrible)

But still no actual points from you apart from “sure bud”

Statistically speaking Vancouver allowed less goals than they should have scored way more than they should have. If Demko falters at all and their offensive luck runs out they absolutely could be in trouble.
