Looks like Behrens is getting the Malinski treatment: AHL playoffs on an ATO, then 24-25 his pro deal begins, he starts in the AHL & gets some NHL callups.

I think CMac prefers to start Malinski over committing big money to Walker, especially to be flexible for a possible Landy return. They can always rent to plug holes until more clarity is achieved. Or maybe Behrens becomes a starter by the playoffs. He has quite the resumé as a recent, two time Natl Champion!

If walker leaves they can resign trenin and then sign a 7th dmen and sign another 4th liner and keep kiviranta as 13h forward.

Toews makar
Girard jones
Malinski manson

Completely agree. Walker will not be resigned. Malinski should be on the opening night roster next year imo and Behrens too if possible

Not a chance in hell Jones goes from 7th dman playing behind JJ to being in the top 4

Because he sucks and the sharks already have 2 goalies. They are certainly not paying a 3rd and a 5th

Can't suck anymore than the guys you have now, but yeah I don't think you need a 3rd string goalie with his price tag

Vanecek didn’t even play a game with San Jose, they traded for him knowing he was hurt which I thought was odd. Blackwood was way better than his numbers show, almost a .900 on a team that was -150 in goal differential. Georgiev had a worse save percentage on a team 8th in the league point standings.

He's behind johnson to due to vet experience.

But avs are tight on cap and assuming walker doesn't come back. Jones would be cheap option. Malinski I assume will be in full role

Because giving up 2 draft picks for a goalie who isn’t good would be a bad move for a rebuilding team.

You’re high if you think Jones is a top 4 dman. Jones is almost 27 not some young kid, and you really think any sane coach is playing Jones more minutes over Manson? COL is Jones third team and it’s not like the teams he was on didn’t need dmen, and if your cost cutting your top 4 you have a poorly constructed roster considering there are 6-9 other roster spots where you conserve money.

Ita called balance hence why jones is in top 4.
Toews is a TWD while makar is OFD.
Girard is OFD. Jones is more of shutdown
Behrens/malinski are OFD and manson is shutdown.

You put 2 OFD together and that's a disaster. Imagine playing girard and malinski together

He's not any worse than Vaneck (probably better tbh)

Still doesn't make sense. On top of Blackwood, we've had 3 younger goalies all show flashes of great play in their few appearances. Vaneck is also a reclamation project and I don't see us moving him until his value has gone up.
