Nope. Hawks aren’t doing that. That’s not a great way to weaponize the cap.

I like Geekie a lot but I'd rather get a 1st round pick especially for 50% retained

No point in trading Envgall rn, 3 million isn't that bad for a 3rd liner tbh

not sure pageau would waive but at any rate thats a steep cap hit for what he brings now. Not really in a spot to add those kinds of contacts to move up 15 spots or whatever.

The Isles wouldn't have committed to Engvall with so much term if they didn't want him around for the long haul, and at $3M you can't beat a player like him. There is no reason for them to move him. Especially not if they have to pay to move him. His contract will only look better as the cap goes up. I doubt CHI would be interested in taking on a contract like Engvall's at this point in their rebuild, anyway.
