So you want PIT to trade you Karlsson for a 2nd, 3rd, low level throw ins, and two CRAP pieces?

And then, you trade Karlsson for a 2nd, 3rd, and decent prospect?

No. In this scenario, PIT simply cuts out the middle man and avoids your crap players.

Take Dach out of that deal and the Hawks still decline. Dvorak takes a 2nd to dump, and I'm not sure Chicago would even take him now anyway.

looks like an interesting trade between NSH and PIT.

swap the 2024 2nd round pick (WPG) 2025 3rd round pick (COL) for 2024 1st round pick (NSH)
and we are in.

So for EK, the Pens get some middling picks and a bunch of guys they don't want or need.

EK is a 1st+. Getting us to take on Anderson's abysmal contract is probably also a 1st+. You know Hextall was fired a while ago, right?

Pittsburgh needs probably 8 NHL players. Anderson will be back to 20 goals next year and 10 million for Karlsson is lead boots to a team with Letang, Crosby and Malkin.

Needing bodies doesn't justify an "all our bad players for your good player" trade.
Maybe Anderson will score 20 goals next year. But he only had 20 points, and that's a significant draw on his trade value. He's a one-dimensional scoring winger who's scoring suffered.

"10 million for Karlsson is lead boots to a team with Letang, Crosby and Malkin." Nope. Crosby is the only one of those players who was better than Karlsson this year, and the Big 3 are still playing at/above their contracts. This Penguins team has issues: age, depth, and Todd Rierdan. I think this trade blows a #1D-sized hole in the Pens' roster without addressing any of those issues.
