sounds like a rossi trade is gonna happen

Description
For the record, I am against trading Rossi. Russo made it sound like it was pretty likely to happen. If I had to trade him, the only thing that I would be willing to get in return is a shooting right shot right wing prospect (Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, Jimmy Snuggerud, etc.). Let me know if either of these two trade options are at all possible.

Also probably too small. The whole point of trading Rossi is that he's too small and Guerin wants the team to get bigger.

Dont think Blues would trade Snuggerud for him but yes to the 1st rd pick one.

No to Snuggerud, however I would add something to the 1st if needed

Guerin is good at hockey and he's right.
Your second line can not be 6'1 5'9 5'8
It just can't, it doesn't work.
Rossi would be better off on the wing of a normal sized line.

Why? We need Dmen. We have loads of forwards. I can't imagine the Wild would send him to STL anyway.

Because he’s a better player than whoever they will get at 16.

He’s already in the league and won’t have to wait 3-5 years for him.

Unless you want to give up a legit prospect/player, the extra 2nd’s and 3rd’s that the Blues have are not going to move them up to the top 10

sure they need defensemen, however doesn't mean they can't improve the forwards as well. Especially since they were terrible at 5 v 5 offense again

We shall see. Not sure what bar constitutes legit prospect for you, but judging from history it should not take a 1st round level prospect.

Dude, we have a serious imbalance. And a bunch of high end D prospects on this draft. To use this 1st on a redundancy would tick me off. We're gonna tell Dvorsky he has every chance to make the team and then we ignore our one dire need to go get another C? As super as it would be to have Rossi, I'm not interested in straying from the plan.

I'm not sure how much interest there is for Rossi by other teams. He was being shopped last offseason too, slightly different circumstance due to him still being unproven at the NHL level.

I'm thinking that he's going to be another Dumba situation where MN wants to trade him, but there is a just a lack of interest by other teams unless they are paying pennies on the dollar.

Right, because 22 year old 2C's who score 20+ goals in their first full rookie season and was a top 3 Calder race player for the vast majority of it while still on their ELC grow on trees and won't garner interest because of it. 🤦‍♂️

Have you noticed the crap ton of other fanbases putting out ACGM's for him right now? They're f'ing salivating at the thought he could be moved. Other teams GM's aren't that stupid, he'll garner massive interest.

Don't be daft just because you hate smaller players.

This the same 22 yo, 20g, center than MN is trying to get rid of and they are barren at center. The other teams on here salivating over him are offering basically junk.

It's not my hate for small players, it's a fit thing. Rossi doesn't fit well on many teams (MN included). He's a top-6 or bust player and he's not an upgrade at center for many teams. He could be a fit as a wing on a few more teams. His 5v5 stats were on par with Steel (with and without Kap) the previous season, and Rossi doesn't PK where as Steel did.

I actually don't care if they trade Rossi or not this offseason. He's cheap and there are bigger issues with the team than where/how Rossi fits. If it's a quality trade offer then trade him, if its not then keep him.

They don't have the assets to move up unless you want to trade young forwards. Only defenseman that is interesting that should be available around 16 is Jiricek (I am all for picking him btw) but he won't be ready for 3 years minimum. I would be open to a Rossi deal, i's not my first choice but it's not a terrible move. Could have Thomas, Dvorsky, Rossi down the middle in a few years

Dude, they have two 2nds and two 3rds this summer, plus all their picks moving forward and a raft full of B/B+-is prospects at all positions. We have loads to trade up with.

As much I'd ordinarily like to have Rossi, I'm not interested in splurging important assets for him when we have specific dire needs that can be tended to.

Likely NJD. But we'll see if they do or not. I know the Gustavsson and Minnesota's 13th OVA for their 10th OVA and additional piece is fairly popular with their fans right now.

Not that that helps the Blues, of course. 🤷‍♂️

That makes sense though, additional picks which is all I would want to give NJ to move up doesn't do them much good. Plus the defenseman I would want for the Blues would most likely be gone by 10

There's a few prime candidates. New Jersey, for one.

the only pieces the Blues have that NJ would want in a trade is Buchnevich and Binnington imo. The shouldn't want futures
