Description

What I would do, is I would walk up to Marner this offseason and tell him to waive his NMC so we can get him is max 8 year deal and top dollar. If he doesn't, ride him out all season until deadline, ask again. If he declines again, let him walk in UFA. No need for a guy with no heart in playoffs here.

The biggest problem with Marner is the one year left. If he worth this package? Absolutely, probably should be adding. Will he get this package as a one year rental? No.

That's why you ask him to move his NMC now so he can sign that 8 year extension rather than walking to FA with only 7 maximum years.
