Does Lee waive his M-NTC. I do see Hawks going for this. Move up in the draft and get a vet for Bedard. Only reason why I don't see Hawks doing it if they have players in the minor system that are able to make that jump.

Hawks have the cap space and the islanders could retain another 1 mil and easily yield positive value

take out the retention and its a deal

Yeah. I'm pretty sure if the Isles are retaining that much, they could get positive value, or at least pay a lot less to move him. Plus, retention kind of defeats the purpose of moving him in the first place. If the Isles want to create cap space and do a quick re-tool, rather than rebuild, they should be looking to move the entire cap hit.

Like both of the UFA signings. Martinook would be a sneaky good add! And I like the Lee trade - even w/o any retention. Definitely an upgraded roster if Hall and AA can stay healthy.

He played at Notre Dame, I think he would go to Chicago. But I don't think the Isles should retain the $2m

Thats not the worst thing in the world for the hawks, and if it gets it across the finish line I think they would make that change. I am tempted to ask for more if its the full 7 million dollar cap hit though. Maybe another pick swap or late rounder?

you can take like a 5th or something like that if u want, or find a C-level prospect if they (were for some reason idk) of value to you. But yea a late pick or a pick swap (like our 4th for your 6th) or something could work.
