Why are we adding a pick to get the same player but more expensive?

Yeah, 14 points in 55 games is way better than 15 points in 52 games.

He's a 15-20 point player who caught lightning in a bottle for one season and Brisboise sold the farm hoping he could catch it again.

Sure, Jeannot is better defensively and a better physical player. Also, he proved in the past that he can score goals. Did not happen in Tampa so a change of scenery could help. Maybe a 3rd was a bit much tho.

Why? It does not affect the cap at all and it would probably help for trading the Sheary contract for cheaper.

A one season outburst doesn't prove anything. Max Comtois did the same thing, we let him walk. I also challenge that Jeannot is the more physical player, Jones runs through whatever he is told to.

Wtf are you talking about? Weber's contract does not affect anything. He would be on LTIR, similar to the Seabrook contract that we currently have.

You clearly have no concept how LTIR works his salary counts and the team is giving relief on the daily cap hit the amount of the LTIR hit however if someone isn't in it every daily cap hit you don't use rolls into future capp space allowing a team to accrue cap space.

I find interesting the Sabres trade to take on Cernak's 5.8m contract but Tampa gets to sign Roy at 5m

Cernak is not overpaid, Tampa is just willing to take a downgrade to save 800k. Also, Tampa as no state tax which would help to get Roy on that deal. I can see what you mean tho.

Go read about accrued cap space educate yourself. The NHL salary cap goes by a daily cap hit for last season the daily cap hit was a hair under 450k so sat you have no one on LTIR and you only have 430k daily cap hit that 20k can be rolled into tomorrow's and it becomes 470k. Again you only use 430k the next days becomes 490k etc. when your in LTIR they count the players salary and then give you the Cap relief bringing you compliant.
