I don't think that's enough value from the Leafs' end. JVR is good but 1 year before he's a UFA means his trade value is tiny compared to Trouba who is an RFA and will have significantly less negotiating power. I think if the leafs threw Soshnikov, Kapanen, or Rychel in here this could work.

Not even close JVR+2nd doesn't get you Jacob Trouba Chevy wants a similar LHD to Trouba it would at least take one of Rielly or Gardiner going the other way. It's not hard to figure out.

I would agree that this isnt enough, but there is a hole on LW in the Jets top 6 so some logic there. If Sosh as a sweetener gets it done then lets pull the trigger!

Green, tend to agree with both the gentlemen above, (albeit I never agree with Lark, at least he's still not demanding that Marner or Willie would have to be added to Gardiner) but Winnipeg clearly needs some left side help both up front (likely top 9) and top 4D! Gardiner, and perhaps both of Leivo, and the addition of Shosnikov, more closely gets this done! Also more feasible cap wise for Jets! Could also work with a pick if they would rather! I do think there is a good fit though! IF: They would only accept this with Gardiner and JVR alone, I would still consider it, as the cap scenario would be helpful to the Leafs!

Considering Trouba's ceiling, and If Wpg wants a d man in return, you will most likely have to trade Rielly or Gardiner, but tbh, that won't help you. You'll be filling one hole, while creating another. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think Trouba will ask for a trade now, considering where his team is going with Laine, Ehlers and Schiefle. He is about the same age as them. But overall, good line up!
