It was in all the papers . . . when you have a guy with a really big cap hit, it restricts all your other moves, especially for a team constructed from the bottom up, with high-quality complementary players like Mikey Anderson and Phillip Danault, whose combined cap hits will be less than Mitch Marner's new contract. If only there was some team that could serve as an abject example of what's wrong with building a team with four or five REALLY big-ticket stars at the top, precluding the collection and retention of good middle-level guys like Zach Hyman and Michael Bunting . . .
