Boston has some good cap flexibility this off-season and moving ullmark only gives them more. Guentzel or Reinhart or Marchassault could all be targeted. Chandler Stephenson seems like an option.

Y'all are new to this, so I'm not going to assume you've heard it before like the Leafs and Sabres fans should have. But Boone is simply not available. This has been confirmed and reiterated by CBJ fans, beat writers, pundits, front office personnel, the ownership, and Boone himself. He's in "don't even bother asking" territory. Hell, a fair portion of the fanbase is convinced Kekalainen got fired because of fears he'd trade Boone - I'm not buying it 'cause Kekalainen was also adamant about not moving him, but that's a nice illustration of just how "do not even bother considering" he is.

So you want Jenner but offer a middling player and a 1st round pick that you protect to keep us from getting value that we deserve? This is the problem with these trades. First off, Jenner is not available but hypothetically if he were, the Jackets would absolutely want their pick next year with no protection and Fabian Lysell just to start serious negotiations. If Boston isn’t willing to entertain that then they should look elsewhere.

FWIW, it's actually not a bad offer for Jenner.

But "decent offer for Jenner the player" doesn't sniff "actual offer to make Jenner available" territory. He's untouchable.
