Aggressive Offfseason

Description
Calgary makes this move to get Iginla. I think Calgary really want him but so does Montreal. The Jackets, no matter who is available here, isn’t taking a player that is likely to affect the lineup for at least 2-3 yrs. So it makes sense for the Jackets to take advantage of this by not only garnering some extra picks but also shore up their goaltending. The Jackets then take that Van pick and trade up to the SJ 1st at 14. SJ needs picks and not much to sell. So this would be a conceivable scenario.

Toronto gets a young winger who is perfect to replace Marner in where ever they end up trading him to. They also Alex Nylander to help bolster the 3rd line.

Leafs pass. Nylander isn’t worth anything (understood he did well in Columbus after the trade). Chinakov looks promising but I think Toronto will roll the dice on Grebenkin and hold onto the first round pick that they need

I think that's too much to move up 5 spots. Which player at #4 is worth that in your opinion? He would need to be quite a bit better than the next 5 guys on the list.

If Calgary moves up to 4th it'd be to pick Lindstrom.

I think it can just as easily be Levshunov, or Dickinson maybe if he falls to #4. I have a harder time seeing one prospect being head and shoulders above the rest.

I’d like to move Elvis with like 1.4 retained for FC. After looking at the UFA market and seeing some performances from these playoff goalies. I don’t see any goaltenders better than him and there will be lots of teams looking for a starter. Would be a perfect time for the jackets to take advantage and offload Elvis and save some cap long term over a buyout

I'd just keep the picks and take the BPA at 9th, hopefully one of the top 5 defenseman. If anything I'd be trying to trade up into the 18 to 22 range to take one of the 3rd tier centers.

I don’t know. Elvis did not do us any favors. I don’t see a team that would take him. We would have to retain 50% to likely get him out of here.

If it wasn't for his name I don't even think he'd be a consideration for the Flames.

That's too much for Calgary to move up to 4th but it'd definitely get the Flames' attention and if Columbus is willing to negotiate it'd get serious talks started.
