That trade is the biggest of no's we can give. Marner doesn't fit here. We aren't giving up our core. Any trade from Toronto starts and ends with Knies. You don't want to give him up? Either do we. There's no fit here. Salary doesn't make sense. Assets don't make sense. Value doesn't make sense.

Boldy is signed for 6 more years at 7per .. Rossi has a year on his ELC. this makes zero sense for Marner. It's not even an upgrade ..

His fat ass cap hit that he has now and will need for his extension. I’d rather Boldy+Rossi at a total of $12M than just Marner at $12M.

Boldy is locked in for many years. He is an unreasonable ask for a guy who hits UFA after this upcoming season.
