yeah nevermind i looked at his stats still an overpayment though
Might be an overpayment but it wouldn't be anything too crazy, maybe adding a 3rd/4th to TBs side would make it more even, but TB would be looking for an overpayment and this would probably not be enough. Minten unless he starts finding offense is likely to be a 2-way 3C,
maybe a 2C. With Cirelli, you're getting the finished product, and he's locked/young enough to be the 2C for the foreseeable future. The Leafs probably don't want to give up the few futures they have for Cirelli, when they have bigger needs. They could try to sign similar players in Stephenson (30; 5.5-6.5M) and Lindholm (30 in Dec; 7-7.5M) who have some more offense to them.

Cirelli Is a very good 3C. He can play in the 2C spot but like you said he doesn't have the production to be a true 2C.
Whether we call him a high-end 3C or low-end 2C, I think it's fair to say he would cost a premium to acquire, PHI wanted a 1st+ for Laughton. Although, if Cirelli is considered a premium 3C, he's paid too much.
