PIT is absolutely not doing that trade. No chance. Nor are we buying out Rakell. 60 points the season before this one.

I actually like the Barron trade and see it as a decent swing for Pittsburgh. Montreal has pressure to move him (waiver eligible) and I think he would fit well there. That Tanev contract would probably not age well.

-we dont need any more right shot defensemen and you acquired 2 while displacing ek65 to his off-side.
-bringing back teddy to upgrade the b6 when he already didnt play well or score much when he was in pittsburgh is like slapping a band-aid over the gaping hole at the bottom of the titanic
-there will be someone to take reilly smith, he shouldnt be brought back.
-the rakell buyout is aggressive but then again im willing to buy out ryan graves.
-the b6 needs more attention and help.

I think this is the minimum I’d trade Barron for. Don’t think Pitt should do it with Karlsson and Letang on the right though.

this is not a playoff team.

I actually think Baron can still develop into a decent defenseman. H just needs to get his turn overs under control.

They keep rotating Xhekaj/Harris/Barron/Kovacevic
MTL have their lot of injuries every years
Savard Kovacevic contrat expires after next year, there will be roster spot for Barron full time

He probably will try and trade one. But if someone is dumb enough to offer a 2nd for Barron he takes that and runs

He wanted Barron in the Lehkonen trade, he believes in him. He wasn’t bad when he was playing top 4. Just gotta work on his defense
