Meh. PIT already has two top 4 offensive minded defenseman. If we’re going to spend to upgrade on Graves I would want a big, shut down type of LD. Girard is not that.

Way I see it is.
Girard and manson are cap dumps but still bring talent to another team.
Wood wasn't living up to his contract and I think would thrive with torts. Flyers are looking for a big RW body and rantenen fits that mold.
Georgiev was shaky at best and LOC will be due for an extension and would be solid top 9 player for the sens.

why not just extend raantanen? very difficult to trade a player of that caliber and get a proper return back and i just dont see that return working out for colorado

Wood fits the avs system well, as does LOC, who really drove that line with him Colton and Wood all season. Georgiev is a great goalie, no goalie would've put up much better numbers with the way the avs lost guys in the slot. I agree they need a shakeup but not at this scale, teams are better off trying out a coaching change before jettisoning a bunch of players.

You're shaving off 500k to take Walker over Girard which I don't think is worth it, Girard really found his game this year.

Honestly, they should take it, girard id consider a more 2 way guy, and with how bad graves was, even an incredible bounce back would probably be worse then what we’d get with girard, plus he’s younger. But the avs should not do that lol.

Shaky at best? After the first playoff game he was more than solid enough. I agree he was shaky during the season, but the playoffs he was very solid.

If Rantanen was a center, I think Philly considers, but even then I think that’s still too steep. The difference between Konecny and Rantanen is not worth 12OA, our best D prospect, a very high 2nd and the heart of the team who the org has essentially stated they are only accepting overpays for. You can keep him.
