Contrary to CapFriendly stats, Flyers are not desperate for cap space. We got 10.5M once we LTIR Ellis and Johansen. I also expect a Atkinson buyout which will add 3.4M.

Danny has set the Flyers up so 2025 is flush with space when dead money like Petersen, Johansen, and others come off books.

Nah, no more taking on cap dumps unless they can actually contribute. Sign 1-3 ACTUALLY good players to short term deals who can help young guys develop and who will get good value at the deadline.

This team has the great prospect pool, they need to start playing competitive hockey. these measly 3rd-5th round picks aren't worth creating a losing culture

Agree. Only worth it for earlier picks

Beating a dead horse here but I’d just be open to the bigger cap dumps (i.e. Campbell, Mikheyev). Just more worth it imo.

Taking big cap hits for short term from desperate teams is kinda the strat and I’m not sure if Philly or Detroit fit that bill.

Sounds good - seems like fair plan.

I stand by Chiarot and Jeannot. More so Chiarot since we can use someone who log minutes decently and we need someone strong to guard the young roster who isn’t afraid to be on “patrol”.

I’m iffy on Mikheyev and Campbell may be bought out idk..

I think Jeannot and Chiarot would provide good minutes.
I chose Johansen due to his experience but since he’s injured then yeah this roster would need a replacement player that can put up points/experience in the top6.

I agree we should be big game hunting for cap dumps in the 4-5 range. Smith, Rakell, Mikheyev
Emberson, Addison, Zadina too much
Kunin going to get much more based on his QO

Yeah they would be totally fine as players but wouldn’t really max out the value SJ could get out of a trade.

Maybe take a look at Skinner from Buffalo? His contract is terrible and Buffalo probably wouldn’t pay anything crazy to offload him but he’s a good player who, if the sharks could afford for a few years, could contribute and also add some picks/prospects via cap dump. NMC is an issue though.
