I got thinking about the eventual tear down in Columbus & decided to go shopping & attempt to load up. Little did I know it would handcuff me further down the road, necessitating Cowan & Niemela to make the jump to the big club.

It's absolutely crazy, but I think you know that. Kinda unrealistic, kinda fun, but I honestly don't know that Toronto is better because of it. Definitely a little creative!

Leafs should have absolutely no interest in four years of Elvis.
As much as Leaf fan whine about it, Kampf isn't waiving to a poor team with cap.
The Montreal GM should be fired for making that trade.
I know Leafs fans hate their own, but that is embarrassing bad return for NHL Dman. Liljegren.

There isn't exactly a whole lot to tear down in Columbus. Gaudreau and Severson are probably locked in with no trade/move clauses. Werenski has a full NMC and seems pretty content. If you wanna call moving out Laine, Provorov, Boone, Gudbranson, and Elvis a tear down, I guess? Everyone else that's of any real importance is 23 and younger and not the kinda players you move out when you're trying to rebuild.

That already happened three years ago. Y'all might remember it; the Leafs picked up Foligno as part of it.

Again, what is there to tear down? The most valuable players have full NMCs and the only other guys that make sense to trade are peripheral or guys that they likely want to get rid of anyway. It's not like they're gonna start trading away guys they drafted in the last 3 years since the rebuild started to restart the rebuild again.
