I would ask for more established defenseman from Ottawa. Someone like Harpur and a 3rd (+ Condition).

Adding depth for Carolina makes sense as well.

Would also look into moving Burmistrov if it isn't working out.

I think that the values are there but a team can only retain a max of 3 contracts i believe so Vancouver is in tough with 2 already on the books.

At least Flames89 gets it. Per the CBA you can only retain in 3 contract...you are retaining on 5 right now.

I dont think anybody would give up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for both Sedins even with 50% retained

For one year of the Sedins at $7 million combined? I'm sure someone would give up a 1st + 2nd + 3rd lol. Even at 36yr old Henrik is good for 15G/40A and Daniel is good for 20G/40A. So between the two of them you'd get 35G/80A for $7 million total. On a deadline deal (as the OP mentioned) it would be even less since the hit is prorated at the deadline. I mean without being retained you probably get those two for $7 million at the deadline. If VAN goes 50% on one your at $5.25 million for a pair of future HOF that instantly boost any teams offense.

Jesus imagine if PIT pulled of a deal and 2/3 of your 3rd line was the Sedin twins....WOW!!
