Pen 3C trade with Dallas

Created by: jkorchok35
Team: 2017-18 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 4, 2017
Published: Aug. 4, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Pens deal young potential top 6 RW for legit 3C that is young and cost controlled at a reasonable cap hit. Straight up. Dallas still has 3 legit centers ahead of Faksa but not a lot of depth at RW past Radulov. I think this deal helps both teams in the now and in the future. Thoughts?

If I know PIT fans, and I think I do, they think Sprong is the next god gift to hockey. Seen PIT fans compare him to Malkin and Kessel. They think he will be top 6 next season (he won't). So my bet is you're about to get a lot of backlash for this.

Simple and makes a lot of sense for each team positionally, although Dallas would probably want to be sure the Sprong was ready to play in the NHL.

I feel Dallas would love this. Based off of how much Pittsburgh loves Sprong, they'll probably ask for a pick back too.

I think ever fan base says the same about their own top prospects. Sprong is NHL ready according to many, and has huge upside. He's going to be cheap talent for a few more years and that's what wins cups. Cheap talented youth complementing expensive star players. That's the Pens strategy that's got them back-to-back, but some of that youth is now costing them (Sheary and Domoulin).

As a Pens fan I think I would take this deal if I couldn't talk DAL into another player instead.

I'd rather send Sheary for Faksa and Johns so we can add a RH Dman as well.
