Unless your offering Marner, Nylander or Rielly, that package you proposed is crap frankly speaking.

So you have strengthen the Leafs short term by making the Trouba deal. So why did you weaken the the Leafs by trading Bozak for futures probably meaningless picks. Same with Marincin, traded him for a meaningless pick just so you can the worse Marchenko as the 7th D.

Once again a deal based around JVR isn't getting you Trouba, You want Trouba then one of Marner/Nylander is heading the other way and i'm pretty sure that the Jets could still use some D help so either Rielly or Gardiner needs to be going the other way. Outside of JVR scraps wont get you Trouba.

No way the Jets make that deal anyway. So why worry about a Bozak trade.

leafs fans won't like this but if the leafs trade for Trouba he would be their best dman. So pay up like he is. So whatever you leaf fans think Rielly is worth well Trouba is worth more because he is better and right handed.

MARtotheZO, forget the TROLLS, like The Goat! His only reason for being on here is to troll Leaf posters! Some of the highlights of his Canadiens Posts, include within: "Tavares": offering $9.5M over (10YRS) and under ""Realistic Tavares" $10M over (9YRS). Thus illustrating his complete ignorance of the CBA and likely everything else!

Larkinisking, the same, but feel for him because as a Detroit fan, he has very little to live for over the next 5-10 years!

Trouba trade not that far from reality, although I doubt the Leafs throw in a first as illustrated. I tend to also agree with Pal above: Bozak isn't going anywhere, (likely in a package) without a warm body upgrade coming back!

You're right about Jets deal. I just thought the other two couldn't overlooked.

It is fairly common knowledge around die-hard Leaf fans, that the Leafs offered Gardiner+Soshnikov at the beginning of the Season for Trouba. Winnipeg declined.

Sage: I think that is pretty accurate! They were very clear that they wanted a young LD and a prospect! At the time, Trouba really had no advantage contractually, and the club knew it! Even if he had gone to arbitration, which he couldn't he would have had to accept what eventually worked out to a "bridge type"deal! Now, with a year out and going into arbitration, nothing suggests that he still doesn't want out, nor that Winnipeg wants to move forward to a contract that they find restrictive. Winnipeg has an internal cap, and can they afford to pay Trouba market value? They stand to go right back into the situation they were in a year ago, if they don't get an extension done. If they wait, it could cost them even more, and/or HAVE TO move him. If you exchange JVR's name with Gardiner above, do you not think the Jets have to consider it!

Doug, regardless of arbitration the Jets will still have Trouba for just 3 years, unless they deal him. The "good" Gardiner of last year and Trouba are pretty equal, thought the Leafs would have to add more for the 3rd year of Trouba and some more. Either way it's kinda of lateral move Gardiner for Trouba maybe both teams are just happy with what they have.
I posted a trade regarding Trouba which sorta got away from a direct lateral trade. Not saying it would be accepted by the Jets, by it still got the silly comments that Nylander has to be included and Trouba won't play with the Leafs.
