Interesting trade that doesn't cost us a lot

Description
People keep trading big pieces of our team like Pacioretty, Price and Galchenyuk to improve our offense. But I found a way to improve our offense without even trading our star players. Elias Lindholm, who came out of a pretty good season in Carolina, is on a 2.7 million dollar contract that will expire next year. He will be a RFA, which means that it's most likely for him to sign with the team he plays for. I love the way he plays and I'm willing to trade for him. A trade like that could represent a great opportunity for us to get rid of Plekanec's contract. We also have young players like Nikita Scherbak who were never really given a chance and in my opinion the only way he can get that chance is by being traded. To do Carolina a favor, I will be retaining 50% of Plekanec's contract. Just to make sure that Carolina accepts, I will give them 2 draft picks. Carolina gets a decent return for Elias Lindholm. They get a 3 million great third line center, they get a young player who can grow into a top 6 forward and they get a bunch of draft picks. Montreal, on their side, managed to improve their top 6 without touching big pieces.

Not a bad trade. Makes a lot of sense. Though maybe Carolina might want McCarron rather then Scherbak

Thanks for reviewing my trade, buddy! But McCarron will be at best a 3C and Scherbak has the abilities and the skill to become a top 6 player.

Yup I know. But only reason I would say McCarron is because of his size. 6'6 center 230 plus pounds, who has skill as well. Carolina already has a decent amount of wingers in the system, including Gauthier. So that is why I said McCarron.

Lindholm is 22years old and Carolina's future #1 C. I am not saying he is going to be a superstar but he is highly regarded and was taken #5 overall. It will take more than average prospect, a salary dump and 2 ok picks to get him. More along the lines of Lehkonen and a 1st

I don't think Carolina gives up Lindholm for this package. They're a team on the rise and he's a core piece for them that lit it up in the second half of last season. I think the only way they deal him is for a comparable player if they feel like they needed to upgrade at a different position.

GMRF have waited all this time for a garbage package like that ? lololololol . Carolina is a cap team don't expect them to take your cap dump , busted young bucks and other scrub 3 rounder . Elias Lindholm is a great player , i would trade him 1 on 1 against galchenyuk because i think he is more serious and play center , but hey , what do i know ? As a habs fan sign me into that deal quickly while i go dump pleky at the airport .

lindholm might be the #1 centre right now. a fair trade if canes would be winger for centre would be drouin. bondage the goat, if price the goat agrees with the trade, my rating must be accurate

The reason most of these fantasy teams ship major pieces is because you have to give value to receive similar value. Clearly, you haven't understood this concept with the trade you've got there. Trading for Lindholm isn't a silly idea, but think more along the lines of Lehkonen+, or Danault+, or Galchenyuk-

And for the last time, we don't need to dump Plekanec's salary when we have a boatload of cap room. Since he has little trade value for most teams (especially Carolina), retain his services as an impeccable 3C defensive powerhouse that can chip in the odd point.

The problem with plek have start since his new contract , from dat point to now , its a total disaster . 28 Pts last year with some PP time and good winger , change that to defensive oz start and the fact that is shot is useless and the recipe is there to score even lower . Apart from rental value point of view its all over for the turtle neck . Danault , De La Rose , Poehling and other have the right ceiling to replace him in a minute and to some extend McCarron .

I think many trade involving plek at 3M is acknoledging of his true salary value nothing more . It's more important for the message you send those guys that you gonna have to come to work to boss , not sleep at wheel . Rest of analysis is on point .
