You've low-balled a number of contracts. If the Oilers have a successful season this year (and I expect they will) then some of these guys will earn more money than you've allotted them. The RFA's are harder to predict, but all of the UFA signings are low, with Letestu and Stempniak taking pay cuts from their previous contracts. Not gonna happen. There will be plenty of UFA's the team can sign at lower cap hits, but these guys are all going to get more money than you've given here.

Also as side note, I read a Panthers beat writer say that the reason Demers nixed the trade to Vancouver was the tax situation. That means he'd probably refuse to go anywhere in Canada.

The only thing to LOL about is how bad these contracts are and how they would never happen in real life. Just face it like all good teams, the Oilers will have cap problems. Every team has cap problems.

Where did you hide Slepyshev's body?
Did you just trade for Demers, he of potential buyout status?
In what world does Letestu sign for $900K?

Because theyre gonna lose Turris to free agency unless they give him Ryan money.. they get a younger player under control with way more upside

i didnt low ball anyone. i gave Letestu and Stempniak 3 years at 34/35 years old, that is why the cap hits are low. as older players their job security and family security is a top priority. how does Patrick Maroon make more than 3x3? why on earth would a 2nd line centre make more than 5M. thats the precedent set by countless others in the past. Demers only has an 8 team no trade list i highly doubt Edmonton is one of the 8 teams he wouldnt want to go to considering the talent level. i think i overpaid most RFA's so if i nickle and dimed some UFA's thats where the money will come from.

You've lowballed a bunch and you're still over cap by about 1.8M with bonuses that Puljujarvi and Yamamoto will likely get if they play with McDavid and Draisaitl. Letestu is getting a raise, chia won't pay him less than Kassian for sure. I dount Maroon is back for less than $3.5M and could see him signing with STL regardless of Edmonton's offer. Caggiula could be low if he has a decent season. If Broissott plays near 20 games and has okay numbers he will get typical backup money in the $2M or higher range. Strome's next contract will be similar or even less than Demers, and would they even want Demers after his last season. Did you let Slepyshev go for nothing? That's not great asset management. Turris is a #1C and will get more than $5M. Maybe not much more, but more. If you bring all those salaries up to where they should be I think you're probably more like $4M to $4.5M over cap.
