Doughty is a top 5 nhl Dman and you're counting on Brown and kappanen to make this deal work seems a little far fetched but LA would want Marner or Nylander as well ,

Yep... offer is laughable really. Got to give up quality to get quality back. Not saying Brown or Kapanen aren't quality, but they definitely aren't in the top tier that would be needed to get Doughty. You're looking at Marner, high picks ++ to get Doughty.

Not disagreeing here. But the Kings are trending downwards and Doughty 's contract is expiring soon. Will he stay? If he walks the Kings would be a disaster. Maybe a trade is worth it, but then the opposing team has all the leverage. In any case, the Leafs aren't trading the big three, so the Kings aren't even picking up the phone

I'm pretty sure if leafs are offering that crap, other teams can offer much better packages and trade for him. You have to give away quality to receive quality

First off teams not only have to have a package to offer, but also have the budget and cap to support Doughty's salary over the next 2 years. It's scary that teams have to try and not only see what stage they are at but also what it will cost to keep a player 2 years out? If LA goes full blown rebuild and figures that doesn't include Doughty they would be well advised to search out offers now, as the closer he gets to FA, the less he will command.

As suggested maybe the deal isn't enough to get Doughty. But of course, every one says it would have to Marner plus. From what I seen there there has been so few Doughty trades to any other teams, the Leafs have absolutely no competition if the Kings decide to trade Doughty. Contender teams have little cap without sending money to the Kings. Since the Kings have to sell tickets, I doubt they will trade Doughty although long term it may be the best thing.
