The last player to win the Art Ross and a Cup in the same year was Malkin in 08-09, but that doesn't mean that having an Art Ross caliber player is a deterrent to playoff performance. I get what your saying, star players can affect the game in ways besides points, but it's hard to win anything if you aren't scoring goals (unless you are LA and Quick is putting up a .943% playoffs).
Pittsburgh has an elite two way center in Crosby, but also has Malkin (who is an offensive force, and has a decent two way game, but is nowhere near an elite defensive center).
Chicago has the defensive center in Toews, but also has Kane on the second line dropping a PPG average.
