Edmonton is in win Now mode. Detroit is rebuilding. Trade Deadline gives EDM scoring winger to play with McDavid and a true 1D offensive D man. Puljujarvi helps Giffins repeat championships

Sekera isn’t our top d man. Green would be nice but if we’re doing full 6 mill salary then no I’ll give a second if you want to retain 2 million then yes a first

Doesn't matter if he's not worth a 1st. D-man are hard to come by and if the Wings are not in a playoff spot come trade deadline day, they will end up getting a first round pick for him.

1sts are seldom being moved anymore for rentals. Those players rarely make the difference needed to win a cup and the 1st has become one of the most valuable trading assets in hockey. I think teams are wising up to rental player market. They aren't worth the hype.

Than there is the fact that EDMs pick as of right now is a lottery pick. If they make this deal it would only happen if they went 40-10 the rest of the way and are in a playoff position at the TDL. Not 3rd worst in the league that is for sure.

No one said that Green was a 1D but he's clearly worth a 1st he has 13 points in 16 games almost a point per game definitely having his best season in Detroit so far. It's already widely reported that as many as 6 teams have inquired on Green pretty sure we will get a 1st for him.

Just last year, 1/8th of the playoff teams moved their first for rentals.
Hanzal was traded for a 1st +
Shattenkirk was traded for a 1st +

They should wise up, but they aren't.

Yeah we all know that he isn't a 1D and this coming from a diehard Mike Green fan right now he's our #4 D man that said he's a RHD which are always in demand same with John Carlson. Of all the potential D men available at the TDL Mike Green should fetch the most.

Hanzal and Shattenkirk got 1st round picks last year just depend how desperate a team becomes at the TDL.

From your Team Explanation: "... Trade Deadline gives EDM scoring winger..."

Nyquist scored 12 goals last year and 17 the year before that. A Puljujarvi + pick trade would have to return more than Nyquist.
